SIREN HUB LIMITED
During the UK's lockdown in early 2020, I set up and ran a project to encourage motivation, positivity and what the power of music can do to a small group of musically talented friends called Exhibition UK. It was home to eight residents including myself. We created lots of content together including mixes, radio shows and tracks on digital audio workstations such as Logic Pro X, Ableton and FL Studios to which we broadcasted on social media and on SoundCloud. This project would then grow into a community as we were actively engaging with other music lovers when sharing each others music-based content, helping one another grow in as many ways as we possibly could.
I aimed to take Exhibition UK to the next level, and so started to advertise on social media with my team about accepting free download release material to take the first steps of becoming a record label. We accepted a number of quality UK Bass, House and Drum & Bass tracks by some very talented upcoming artists. One UK Bass track in particular stood out to me: SMXTH - Madness.
SMXTH, also known as Aaron Smith was running a Discord community called SIREN HUB which he had built from the ground up with his two friends James Bunning and Adam Cox, home to over 700 people including music artists, record label owners, event promoters, videographers, photographers, graphic artists and much more. He had invited me to join the community to which I accepted and invited my Exhibition UK crew.
Myself and Aaron spoke a lot from the release of his demo submission, discussing the underground music scene, record labels, events and the directions we both aimed to take with growing our brands. We both had a very similar dream of making our brands as successful as possible as a company that would run events and a record label working closely with our communities. However, existing as two separate entities, we were struggling. Aaron had the community and finances with James and Adam to run events but lacked a solid network and knowledge on how to run a label, and I lacked the knowledge on running events and did not have a large enough community on behalf of my label to sustain engagement with it.
I contacted Aaron one day suggesting to merge SIREN HUB and Exhibition UK into one brand. As individual brands, we both lacked in areas that he other brand offered and had strengths in; so as one we would be complete. Aaron agreed with this idea, and offered me a contracted job at SIREN as the full-time Record Label Owner and Manager, as well as supporting the events and branding to which I accepted.
Since then, we have both grown SIREN from a work-in-progress to a super successful brand across the board. We have grown the members and interactions on Discord from 700 to over 5000 people, created two events, developed a mega rebrand together, expanded our network exponentially via event attendancies and social media, organised a team with assigned roles to move the business forward and created a database where all our music and files are stored and released a whole caalogue of music.
One of my biggest achievements for SIREN so far is not only breaking Hypeddit charts and growing over 300,000 streams on our SoundCloud, but also landing us with the UK's biggest underground distribution company Cygnus to release our music on all major platforms.

2021 - 2020 Logo
Our very first SIREN logo design with blue and red aesetic to match a police car's sirens with blurred out police cars in the background.
2022 Logo
We adapted the orginal siren image but interpreted an old-school rave aesethetic with the smooth outline, as well as remnoving the over-use of colours. We wanted this logo to appear much more refined, so simlicity was the key here, less is more effective.
2021 - 2020 Free Download Original Single
We kept the template from our debut compilation free download release (see bwlow), but for our singles intepreted more of the genre specific colour across the board and made the sticker one particular colour.

Overall design remapped both text and image placement wise. We also wanted to remain consistent with the old-school rave gritty aesthetic by offering a 'crinkled' material effect. We also now display our logo as a sticker with the same crinkled effect.
2021 - 2020 Free Download Bootleg Single
We were unsure of which direction to go with the bootleg artwork, and so utilised a simiular idea to YosH by changing the name slightly on the track rather than actually state "bootleg". For example, this bootleg by KRT is of Athena Franklin's orginal massive dance hit "A Deeper Love" (1991) so we called it "Deepah Luv" to fit this idea.
2021 - 2020 Free Download EP
Utilised the compilation typeface and text placement.

2022 Rebrand Free Download EP Artwork
After some careful consideration with our original approach to the bootleg titles, we figured it would be more beneficial to utilsie the orignal artist name and track title with our bootlegged artist name in brackets like the track above. This would gain us more attraction from the original track title searches on SoundCloud and allowed us to flip our own original crinkled material style on the original artwork.

2021 - 2020 Free Download Compilation
New Form was our first ever release as a label, to which we decided on a nine track compilation due to the high number of reeases we were recieving on initialising the label. To represent genre, we would often utilise specific colours, a technique nspired by Supersize UK. For example, we would have: blue = UK Bass/Bass House/Bassline, red = Drum & Bass (+ all sub genres) and yellow = UK Garage/House/Tech. These colours would be apparent per each release so our audience could identify genre easily. However, as this partcular artwork could not include all of these colours across the template, we interpreted them into our unique sticker imprint just below the focal image. We also tested a barcose feature in the right corner. We interpeted the slick glitchy elements from my brand Exhibition to indicate the fusion of both brands, as well as utilising copyright free images with an x-ray-like aesthetic.
2022 RebrandFree Download Compilation
Fresh design influenced by our rebrand of full releases and CruCast EP/compilation releases.
2021 - 2020 Featured Guest Mix
Our original brand package featured similar gritty backgrounds and text fonts matching our logo, so we had intepreted this into our event posters and
2022 Rebrand Featured Guest Mix
Rebrand Featured Guest Mix design offers a CD case covering on our signature red background, featuring an original artist press shot and intertwined aesthetics as seen displayed throughout our other designs such as event posters.
2022 Rebrand Full Release Single
Our plan for our rebrand was to be as diverse and dynamic as possible, delving away from our very static and flat-looking templates. We had worked closely with our graphic artists Tom Girling and Josh Smith to ensure that we were interpeting eleemnts of our rebrand package such as the old-school gritty rave aesthetic and new SIREN sticker imprint logo, but encouraged them to go wild and explore their creative potenital from now onwards. The results have been seriously impressive and we cannot wait to see what else they have in store for our future releases.
2022 Rebrand Full Release EP
Again, we allowed both artists to go full creative freedom with our EP's too but inprint the artsts original logo to give it some variation from our full release singles.

At the time of our debut SIREN event, we were competing against a CruCast takeover at XOYO in London and a major 1Forty event in Leeds at the time which became a huge inconvenience for us to sell tickets and enlighten our event. However, this did not stop us from pulling together as a team, each of our moderator and managerial roles were thorougly involved in the marketing and promotion of our event to sell as many tickets as we possibly could and entice a crowd through the Boxed Leicester doors. This was successful and we managed to make a small profit from the event and everyone had a fantastic experience from the amazing show each of our artists put on.
