My Passion for Film
As mentioned in the About Me section of this site, I have always had a great love for storytelling in cinema. From Disney's Toy Story (John Lassater, 1996), Shrek (Andrew Adamson, Vicky Jenson, 2001) and Monsters Inc. (Pete Docter, 2001), in my younger years to classic and modern blockbuisters a Eraserhead (David Lynch,1977), Inception (Christopher Nolan, 2010), N.O.P.E (Jordan Peele, 2022) I have love for an array of film types and genres. It is my favourite art form. and have learnt to appreciate and understand it technically and prtaicaslly thanks to my education and work experience.
INSPIRATIONAL FIGURES
Walt Disney
Alfred Hitchcock
Quentin Tarantino
The Surrealists
David Lynch
Martin Scorsese
Over the years of studying, writing and producing films, I always like to reflect on the icons who inspire me every day, my influencers! These directors are of the golden era of film production from the late 1920's through to the early 2000's period.

Breakdown of how each director has inspired me:

Walt Disney: Early black and white Disney cartoons and early 2000's productions had fascinated me since a very young age from lovable characters and comedic scenarios which were always exaggeratted.
The Surrealists: Since I was around the age of 5, surrealism has been my favourite artistic movement and style, the weird and wonderful, the uncanny and bizarre! My favourite artists include Andre Breton, Hieronymus Bosch, Giorgio de Chirico, Luis Buñuel, René Magritte, Max Ernst and of course the master of The Surrealists, Salvador Dali. Surrealism has hugely influenced my style and personal taste in art, I wish to puruse utilising it throughout my own films in my own signature style.

Alfred Hitchcock: "The Master of Suspense" and one of the fdirst auteurs in film history. Hithcock's longshots and use of lighting to create a sense of uncomfortability are wow factors I have appreciated greatly.

David Lynch: I was mesmerised by his interpretation of surrealism, it was truly unique - nightmarish worlds, odd human behaviour, gritty rural and industrial environments, dream sequences, the list goes on.

Quentin Tarentino: The master of nonlinear storylines, dark humor, stylized violence, extended dialogue, pervasive use of profanity, cameos and ensemble casts.

Martin Scorsese: King of gangster films! His harsh, often violent depictions of American culture are just simply wonderful.

FUTURE IN FILM
Recently, I attended the ceremony for my graduation at Leeds Beckett for the School of Arts and recieved my official 1st Class Honours Batchelors degree certificate. This was a great opportunity to uplift my spirit and passion for film to drive forward and move to Leeds to start making my dreams a reality.

I am incredibly excited to obtain work experience in the film industry and advance my career alongside writing, directing and producing my own freelance-based films!
